Hopi Ear Candle
An ancient but effective treatment to bring relief from the pain or discomfort associated with excessive or compacted earwax. It can relieve sinus problems, glue ear, tinnitus and pain and pressure from flying. For maximum results, a course of three treatments is recommended. Hopi Ear Candles are hollow tubes made of cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs. When lit, the candle acts like a chimney, causing the warm air inside it to rise and creating a vacuum at the bottom. This vacuum gently stimulates the ear, facilitating removal of excess wax and impurities.
What are they ? Lava Shells are the world’s first self-heating massage tool. Lava Shells are 100% recycled, natural Tiger Clam shells. A patented, natural, biodegradable heat technology is incorporated into the Lava Shell which then emits heat for over an hour, allowing therapists to provide a continuous massage.
Where do they come from? The Tiger Clam is native to the oceans surrounding the Philippines. Local villagers have gathered the clams for food for hundreds of years and having no use for the shells, simply threw them away. Now all this has changed. Using this waste product creates jobs on the island. The locals prepare the shell for use in massage by sand polishing them to a smooth finish and gluing them back together. A small hole is then drilled which allows the therapist to place the heating sachet inside to create the Lava Shell we use for our treatments.
Warming Back Massage – Fantastic for soothing aches The Warming Lava Shells Back Massage uses a gentle heat in porcelain shells in conjunction with your therapist’s hands to promote a feeling of relaxation and improve wellbeing.
Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body.
What happens during a reflexology treatment? A full medical history will be requested on your first treatment, and you will be asked to sign a consent form for treatment. This information will be kept confidential. Reflexology is a very easy therapy to receive; depending on the type of reflexology, the most clothing that will have to be removed for a treatment to take place will be your socks and shoes. The therapist will then use their hands to apply pressure to the feet, lower leg, or hands & arms, depending on the type of reflexology chosen. You may feel areas of transient discomfort during the treatment, but generally the experience should be relaxing.
How will I feel after a reflexology treatment? It is useful to give feedback to the reflexologist as this may show the response of your body to treatment. This in turn might help the reflexologist to tailor a treatment plan specific to your needs. After one or two treatments your body may respond in a very noticeable way. Most people note a sense of wellbeing and relaxation; however, sometimes people report feeling lethargic, nauseous or tearful, but this is usually transitory and reflexologists believe that it is part of the healing process.
